Anders Zorn was born in Mora (United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway) in 1860 and achieved international success as a painter, sculptor, and etcher. Zorn studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm from 1875 to 1880. Zorn was primarily known for his portraits, and was frequently commissioned by wealthy Stockholm residents, which is how he met his wife, Emma Lamm.
