21st Century Italian Cabinet-Sculpture Contemporary in Wood and Colored Resin
By Marco Padovese
Located in Budoia, IT
“..and then, finally, comes the piece that alone describes the project without adding other words.” The project Q.bo sculture does not intend to recreate the object in a different form but to elevate it to a real sculpture while mantaining the functional part it was create for. No longer furniture but indipendent form able to fill a space and arouse emotions by itself. This sculpture was born breaking up a night stand from 1950s. The structure has still the original wood as visible on the back of the piece, while in the cut sections a new wood part has been added. The finish is red, blue and orange resin applied with a spatula in two coats. This technique creates a visual and tactile effect and gives a protection from scratches and small bumps. Furthermore the cabinet is cleanable with a damp cloth and is water-repellent. The shuttle can be opened as originally but it has been adapted to the new shape. The inside of the cabinet is natural as it shows the authentic wood...

Boucher jewelry is jewelry created by the firm founded by French designer Marcel Boucher. In the the 1920s, Boucher moved to New York City from his native country. In 1937, he founded his own jewelry house after having apprenticed with Cartier and worked as a designer for Mazer Bros. The brand quickly became known for its enameled costume jewelry. By the end of the 1940s, Boucher hired (and later married) another designer named Sandra Semensohn. On 1stDibs, shop a collection of vintage Boucher jewelry.

To identify Boucher jewelry, look for the maker's markings. Nearly all pieces feature a maker's mark. Depending on the age of your piece, the markings may be the word “Marboux” on early pieces, the initials "MB" in a cartouche or the names “Marcel Boucher” or “Boucher” on their own. After 1945, Marcel Boucher began adding an inventory number to his pieces, and Boucher continues this tradition today. You can look this inventory number up in trusted online resources to learn more about your jewelry. If you need any help with the identification process, consult a certified appraiser or knowledgeable dealer. Shop a diverse assortment of Boucher jewelry on 1stDibs.

Jacob & Co. is considered expensive for a few reasons. For one thing, the watch collectors of the world know the watchmaker for its multicolored-gemstone designs as well as its oversized and innovative complications. There are substantial costs related to the design, assembly and premium materials associated with Jacob & Co.’s luxury watches, which are painstakingly crafted in Switzerland and sold all over the world. The price tag reflects the brand’s use of meticulously sourced round brilliant cut diamonds and metals such as 18-karat gold. Additionally, only a limited number of timepieces leave the watchmaker's workshops each year, so demand usually far exceeds supply. Find Jacob & Co. watches for sale on 1stDibs.

The legendary American luxury house Tiffany & Co. is currently owned by Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), which completed the acquisition of the company in January, 2021. The firm started out modestly — Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young founded it in Connecticut as a “stationery and fancy goods emporium” in 1837, at a time when European imports still dominated the nascent American luxury market. Upon Charles’ death in 1902, his son Louis Comfort Tiffany took over artistic direction for the brand. On 1stDibs, find authentic Tiffany & Co. pieces from some of the world's top sellers.
