Available today, this Credenza in Hardwood and Brass by Ernesto Hauner, c. 1960s is nothing less than a beauty!
This spectacular mid-century modern credenza is crafted from the finest Caviuna wood and is composed of two identical modules attached to form one large piece. It features 4 doors, 4 drawers, and 4 shelves, with the drawers adorned with Italian beige leather. Each door showcases two Caviuna wood veneer panels, creating a striking pattern. The entire credenza is supported by a total of 8 cylindrical legs, with each module having 4 legs. Purchased at an estate sale in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this piece is in excellent condition despite some age marks. Manufacture seal is located at the back of the piece.
About the designer:
Ernesto Hauner was an Italian immigrant who came to Brazil in 1949 and began working in furniture design with renowned figures such as Lina Bo Bardi, Sérgio Rodrigues, Martin Eisler, and his brother Carlo Hauner. He started his career at Studio Palma, which later became Móveis Artesanal, and eventually became a partner at Forma Móveis e Objetos de Arte.
