Gottfried Helnwein Color Photography
Austrian, b. 1948
Gottfried Helnwein (b. 1948 - ) is an Austrian-Irish visual artist. He has worked as a painter, draftsman, photographer, muralist, sculptor, installation and performance artist, using a wide variety of techniques and media.
His work is concerned primarily with psychological and sociological anxiety, historical issues and political topics. His subject matter is the human condition. The metaphor for his art is dominated by the image of the child, particularly the wounded child, scarred physically and emotionally from within. His works often reference taboo and controversial issues from recent history, especially the Nazi rule and the horror of the Holocaust. As a result, his work is often considered provocative and controversial.
Helnwein studied at the University of Visual Art in Vienna (Akademie der Bildenden Kunste, Wien). He lives and works in Ireland and Los Angeles.2

Jean-Michel (JM) Voge (b. 1949) is a fine art photographer, formerly editorial freelancer for magazines, such as Madame Figaro (1982-2010), Le Figaro Magazine, Point of View, Marie France, Town and Country, European Travel and LIFE, Fortune Magazine, and AD Spain. The French photographer published a critically-acclaimed monograph on portraits of Europeans, "Figures of Europe," which include portraits of influential Europeans through 1990. Ormond Gigli (1925-2019) published in the top magazines, such as LIFE, Time, and Paris Match. Assignments took the photographer around the globe. Gigli's celebrity portraits included Sophia Loren (at age 21), Anita Ekberg, Marcel Duchamp, John F. Kennedy, Halston, Gina Lollobrigida, Diana Vreeland, Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, among others. The most famous of Gigli's favorite photographs were self-assigned, such as one of the legendary fashion photographs of the 20th century, Girls in the Windows.
