These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver salts have a circular rounded, shaped form to three feet.
The surface of these boxed sterling silver salts is encircled with a cast and applied scrolling border accented with leaf textures and floral designs.
This scrolling leaf ornamentation continues to the impressive cast bracket style feet and incorporates a floral motif to the upper portion of each foot.
The plain circular wells of these antique salts retain the original gilding.
The underside of each vessel bears the contemporary bright engraved crest of on a mound, a leopard couchant guardant, crowned, all amidst the full hallmarks.
These exceptional salts are fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior, with a push fit catch; there are allocated compartments to the interior for a pair of salt spoons...

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver dessert service for eighteen persons - boxed; an addition to our dining silverware collection
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver dessert service consists of eighteen knives and eighteen forks.
The blades of the knives have a shaped rounded form and the forks each have four tines/prongs.
The anterior and reverse surface of each knife is embellished with fine and impressive bright cut engraved figural bearded mask designs enhanced with emanating scroll leaf decoration.
Each fork is ornamented with a bright cut engraved mask to the drop, in addition to an elongated leaf motif to the stem.
Each piece of this silver dessert set is fitted with the original, hallmarked sterling silver handle.
The embossed handles are ornamented with a fruiting vine design and contemporary bright cut engraved crest of an armoured arm embowed holding in the hand an arrow, all encompassed with an interlacing ribbed decorated border,
The upper portion of the handles are embellished with scroll and pendant drop ornamentation, in addition to a mask design to the terminal.
This Victorian silver dessert cutlery set is fitted to the fine and impressive original hinged mahogany canteen box with a lift up lid and two lift out trays.
The interior of the box has a blue velvet lining and is ornamented with a brass shield shaped cartouche to the cover.
The impressive cartouche displays the aforementioned crest above the contemporary engraved initials 'GM'.
Each set of hallmarks is accompanied by a 'lozenge mark' which certifies the patent of this piece on 19th February 1856 with the UK Patent Office.
This exceptional service is one of the finest examples of its type you could hope to acquire.
Condition:
This antique Victorian silver dessert cutlery set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
The bright cut engraved decoration is all very crisp and the embossed decoration is all very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece and the surface of each handle ferrule are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
