Questions About Jasba Decorative Objects
- Where was Jasba pottery made?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertJanuary 27, 2025Jasba pottery was made in Germany. In 1926, Jakob Schwaderlapp obtained a lease to establish his workshop in Baumbach. The name of his brand came from combining the first two letters of his first name with the first two letters of the town. Jasba produced ceramic vases and other decorative objects until the 1970s, when it began to exclusively manufacture industrial tiles. On 1stDibs, shop a range of Jasba pottery.
- 1stDibs ExpertNovember 4, 2024To identify Jasba pottery marks, look for the Jasba name. Most pieces produced by the West German pottery maker will say “JASBA” on the base. The name may appear on its own or be positioned inside a square. Some pieces also read “West Germany.” Pottery from Jasba's N Series will also usually feature a series of numbers preceded by the letter "N." You can use trusted online resources to learn your pottery's style, name and age based on these “N” markings.
