Judith Stewart Art
Judith Stewart is an American contemporary artist, who acquired extensive training in painting and sculpture. She received her BFA degree from Syracuse University and MFA degree from the University of Illinois. While teaching painting at the University of West Florida, in Pensacola, Judith earned a grant to study in Italy, where she began painting sculptures from antiquity, as subject matter for her paintings. Her preoccupation with observing three-dimensional form, affirmed her true interest in sculpture. After moving to Arizona, in 1991, she began working predominantly in wax for cast bronzes and most recently, she has begun exploring the qualities of clay.
