All this is achieved by exploiting the potential of die-casting which is a precise technology allowing complex three-dimensional shapes to be obtained from metal (in this case aluminium). The result is therefore a chair in which the spaces prevail over the solid parts to characterise its aesthetic quality. Chair_One has now become a classic of the future.

Konstantin Grcic (1965) was trained as a cabinet maker at The John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood before studying Design at the Royal College of Art in London. He set up his own office in Munich in 1991. Today, Konstantin Grcic Design GmbH is based in Berlin. The Table B, which inaugurated the Extrusions Collection in 2009, can reach up to five metres using a simple profile of extruded aluminium. Its apparent simplicity covers a complex technical development where important engineers have participated. The result is a piece of excelling craftsmanship, carrying the German designers character.

Top in extruded, scotch polished and anodized silver aluminium. Surface laminating available in matte from Fenix or natural oak (Oberflex).
Legs in architectural concrete in grey with steel concrete base fastening plate painted in epoxy polyester, silver color, for both interior and exterior use.

Konstantin Grcic (1965) was trained as a cabinet maker at The John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood before studying Design at the Royal College of Art in London. He set up his own office in Munich in 1991. Today, Konstantin Grcic Design GmbH is based in Berlin. The office operate in diverse fields ranging from industrial design projects, exhibition design and architectural collaborations. Amongst his renowned clients are Aeance, Authentics, Cassina, ClassiCon, Flötotto, Flos, Galerie Kreo, Kettal, Laufen, Magis, Muji, Nespresso, Plank, Smart and Vitra.

Table B has been one of BD Barcelona Design’s icons of this century. It’s a successful product on the market and has received awards so important as the Red Dot Best of the Best in 2011. This piece, rather than dating, has always looked to the future. Now it has turned into a series of tables for everyday use, outdoor and indoor, with a new 90cm width for domestic use and a 70cm desk. Legs for this collection include new designs in wood, cast aluminium and steel rod.
