Exceptional Bracelet designed by Lacloche Frères. Very rare piece, created in Paris France by the luxury house of Lacloche Freres, between the 1940 and 1950. This impressive articulated bracelet was carefully crafted with late art-deco and retro patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats. It is suited with a customized hinged push double lock. The main buckle element is mounted in full and decorated, with a beautiful gradated selection of natural gemstones, described as follow; Prong set, with 15 cabochon cut in the shape of textured organic leaves (7.71 x 6.36 mm), carved from Burmese vivid blue sapphires, with a combined weight of 33.75 Carats. Bezel set, with 14 European round cut diamonds, 1.06 Carats, F color, VS-2 clarity. French pave setting composed by 34 European round brilliant cut diamonds, 3.56 carats, F color, VS-1 clarity. The links of the bracelet itself are mount into bezels, with 32 calibrated oval cabochon cut (4.5 x 3.75 x 2.2 mm) of natural vivid blue sapphires, from Pailin, with a combined weight of 12.80 carats. Has a total weight of 76.00 Grams and a length of 7 Inches (17.78 Cm). The measure of the widest part is 34mm (1.39 Inches). Stamped, with beautiful French hallmarks, the eagle's head for the assay and guaranty of the 18kt gold, two times with the export mark, the maker's maitre cartouche, the Austrian retailer mark inside a rectangle for WR (Wilhelm Rohrwasser), the serial numbers and signed in full, "LACLOCHE FRERES X3224 FROM FRANCE SC .750 WR". Art Deco Lacloche Ruby Diamond and Enamel Clip Brooch, ca. 1928 A striking and beautifully designed Art Deco clip brooch, by Lacloche from circa 1928. The Indian-inspired motif centres a blooming plant, set with pear-shaped diamonds leaves on a black enamelled stem, surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds. Encased in a frame of finely cut buff-topped ruby cabochons, following the Mughal architecture. This piece shows beautifully the work that Lacloche is famous for. With the strong design and excellent craftsmanship, it is truly a collector's or museum piece. Signed. About Lacloche Frères The Lacloche family was one of the most significant jeweller family with most renowned designs that would become characteristic of the Art Deco period in jewellery design. The patriarch of the Lacloche family was Hendricks Lacloche, and his six children (four boys and two girls) would all venture into the world of jewellery. Jules and Léopold Lacloche moved to Paris in 1892 to open Lacloche Frères (the best-known Lacloche company), but in Madrid their brothers Jacques and Fernand were selling Parisian jewels as Lacloche & Cie, while their sister Bertha had married Jacob Jacques Walewyk and was selling wedding trousseaus as Walewyk-Lacloche, and their other sister Emilie had married Joseph Cohen (Coven) in 1902, selling jewels as Coven-Lacloche. Among their most famous Lacloche jewels are the exquisite ‘petit point’ bracelets made from fine platinum grids ‘stitched’ with diamonds in embroidered patterns, as well as imaginative animal-themed gold accessories created in collaboration with Julien Duval and Paul Frey. Probably their most highly regarded pieces, however, are their sumptuous Art Deco jewels in the Chinoiserie, Indian and Egyptian revival styles, intricately set with jadeite, diamonds, and buff-topped calibré-cut coloured stones, such as the current brooch. At their peak around the time of this commission, Lacloche Frères were collaborating with some of the best Parisian manufacturers of the era, including Lalique, Strauss, Allard & Meyer, Alfred Langlois, Verger Frères, Henri Picq...

A Lacloche Frères, Art Deco diamond bracelet, set with old-cut diamonds, weighing approximately 14.50ct, in a geometric, diagonal design, of interlocking rows, with millegrain edges, with engraved sides, mounted in platinum, with French dog marks for platinum and an eagle head mark, for the white gold tongue. The bracelet is signed Lacloche Freres and numbered 68486. Lacloche Frères started as a Spanish jewellery house. It became known for some of the finest and most creative Art Deco jewellery and Objets d’Art. Four brothers, Fernand, Jacques, Jules and Leopold Lacloche founded the firm, in Madrid, with origins dating back to 1875. They were not born into the jewellery trade, their father was in the textiles business. The brothers had various companies and shops both in Spain and France, opening their first French establishment in Paris, in 1892, in the rue de Châteaudun. After the death of Jacques, in a train crash, in 1900, the remaining three brothers amalgamated their separate business interests to form Lacloche Frères, at 15, Rue de la Paix, Paris, in 1901. When the London jeweller, Edwin Streeter, retired in 1904, they acquired his stock, which included the historic, rose pink, Agra diamond, although they didn’t keep it for long, auctioning it at Christies the following year. By 1908 there was a total of seven European store locations, in Madrid and London as well as branches in Nice, Biarritz, San Sebastián, Cannes and Deauville. They had gained a reputation for beautiful jewellery and timepieces. A collaboration between several exceptional craftsmen - Lalique, Verger, Vacheron Constantin and the enameller Paillet produced a fine pendant watch. They didn't tend to adopt the Art Nouveau style, instead favouring the more commercial diamond and gem set designs of the day. In 1912 Fabergé’s London store was closed, when the Russian government repatriated Fabergé’s personnel and assets. Lacloche bought the remaining stock and set up shop in its place, in 1917. Three years later the son of the deceased Jacques, also called Jacques, was entrusted to run the business in London having been trained by his uncles, in particular Fernand. During the 1920s and 1930s the company gained its reputation for refined craftsmanship and elegance of design, particularly in the Art Deco style. They exhibited at the 1925 Paris Exposition des Art Décoratifs, that was held in Paris, over a six-month period, winning a Grand Prix for their display of fabulous jewels including a range of pendants and bracelets inspired by the classic La Fontaine’s fables. Lacloche Frères were inspired by different genres including the East and a variety of motifs from Chinese and Japanese art and culture. Their brightly coloured, jewelled, geometric cigarette cases and necessaires also known as vanity cases, made in a wide variety of shapes and designs, utilising decorative materials, including lacquer and enamel, with diamond and precious stone motifs are among some of the best of the period.
