Nguyen Xuan Anh Art
Vietnamese, b. 1977
Nguyen is an emerging artist who began his career paying homage to his father, who was considered one of the best lacquer on wood artists in Vietnam. Those initial pieces employ traditional subjects using a variety of earthy colors such as red, yellow and brown. As Nguyen’s artistic visions evolve, his more recent works depict the changing Vietnam as well as pastoral scenes of blossoms, trees and landscapes using ink on paper. He has an astounding ability to mix the traditional with the modern. Nguyen Xuan Anh was born in 1977 in Hanoi, Vietnam and graduated from the Industrial Fine Art College in 1999. He has exhibited extensively in the United States, Singapore, and China.to
