Sara Conca Art

American
Sara Conca is a world renowned American contemporary abstract artist of French-Italian descent. Her work has been acquired by many collectors in Europe and the United States. Sara’s paintings can be found in private chateaus, hotel lobbies in France, hospitals and airports in Northern Florida, and exclusive celebrity homes and museums. By the age of 17, Sara was living and working in Paris. There, a life changing experience reinforced her need for movement, energy, and art. While in Paris, Sara studied sculpture at Ateliers D’Art De St Maur Des Fosses, and further continued her education in South Florida as an assistant of the critically lauded artist Purvis Young. Sara spent her last 18 years traveling extensively and living in Manhattan, solely supported via her painting sales. The energy of New York City gave her an insightful appreciation for ever changing environments and settings, and heavily influenced her painting style. Sara recently returned to her Florida roots, which has inspired her to create a fresh, new, mystical aquatic series involving natural mixed media such as raw silver dust and 18k gold leafing, raw color pigments, mica flakes, and natural crystals. “My work is intended to instantaneously immerse the viewer into the visual and emotional energies that I have devoted to each piece. Depending on one’s ability and willingness to be guided by the senses, these paintings can lead one away from the mind and into an alternate and self-made reality filled with color and freedom. My new series features blues. I love working with this color because it changes in the light by manipulating the textures and layering with silver dust or gold; thus affording each piece continuous movement and energy from the reflecting and refracting light.”

Landscapes I - Oversized Large, Vivid Pastel Abstract Original Painting
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Khoury's art is characterized by her masterful use of vivid fluorescent colors, dark tones, and high-contrast compositions that are both striking and visually compelling. She employs a variety of techniques, including thick and thin brushstrokes, to create a sense of depth and texture in her work. To balance the roughness of the canvas, which is treated with sand prior to starting each piece, Sally incorporates pastels, which add a softness to the overall texture of the painting. The sand is evenly sprinkled across the surface, giving each piece a unique and distinct texture. This large, fluorescent, colorful 59-inch high by 108-inch wide triptych painting is an acrylic paint composition on canvas with pastels, spray paint, and sand. Each segment measures 59 inches high by 36 inches wide. This abstract artwork is signed by the artist on the front of the artwork. The sides are a continuation of the painting and it does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Convenient U.S. and global shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Khoury's series of abstract paintings is a celebration of her connection to her parent's native language and the Arab world she grew up in. Through the incorporation of elements of Arabic writing, Khoury infuses her work with a unique charm and energy that captivates the viewer. The curves and lines that make up the language are emphasized and transformed into vibrant, colorful patterns that represent a mix of emotions and memories. Each painting is a visual representation of the sense of belonging that Khoury feels through the language and culture of her upbringing. Khoury begins her creative process by using pastels, spray paint, and acrylics to create scratches and marks on the canvas. As she works, she draws inspiration from Arabic words and phrases, using them to guide the direction of her strokes. Before the paint dries, Khoury scrapes it off, pulling it downwards towards the end of the canvas. To complete the composition, Khoury adds solid colors and meticulously placed drips of paint, which give the painting a sense of movement and depth. The result is a series of captivating abstract paintings that showcase Khoury's talent as an artist and her unique artistic vision. Khoury was born in Ohio following her family’s emigration from Lebanon. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Saudi Arabia, where she stayed until she was 14. Sally then attended high school and college in Beirut, where she graduated with a BA in Fine Arts with distinction from the Lebanese American University of Beirut. In 2013, she moved back to the United States and settled in California. She recently relocated to Qatar. Her paintings have been featured in group and solo shows in Beirut, Dubai, Italy, and the USA. Gold and Purple-Toned Translucent Three Dimensional Mixed Media Painting
Located in Houston, TX
Gold, purple, and green abstract mixed-media painting by Hawaii-based artist, Èlan Vital. The piece depicts a deep, almost three-dimensional painting achieved through layers of pigments. Small stone-like details create texture throughout the painting. Paint drippings are also seen along the edges of the piece. Signed by the artist at the back of the painting. Unframed but framing options are available. Artist Biography: As the son of a prominent lithographer and growing up in New York City, Élan was exposed to art and color at a very early age. His discovery of Leonardo DaVinci's renaissance diversity theory first touched him when he was only seven; DaVinci became an influential force in Élan's life and still is to this day. Élan attended a high school for gifted students and graduated with honors, attaining an equivalency of an Associate Degree in Engineering at age seventeen. After graduation, Élan was hired by the IBM Corporation as a computer diagnostics expert - the youngest on their team. He was later hired by the ITT Corporation as a design engineer for projects such as the Manila airport underground lighting system and the towers for a hydroelectric dam in Pakistan. Élan's personal artistic revolution began after leaving the corporate world and joining a commune of artists in the East Village, Manhattan. It was there while designing psychedelic lighting equipment, Élan met Andy Warhol. Andy committed the monetary resources for Élan to design the first psychedelic discotechque, located on Saint Marks Place in New York City. This became the springboard for many artistic endeavors for Élan - combining invention with art. Élan moved to Hawaii in 1988. His first major work in Maui was a 49-foot, 10-ton, life-size, humpback whale - the largest sculpture of its kind in Hawaii. Élan donated the whale to establish Maui's Ecology Park, where it is now on permanent display. After completion of the whale, Élan began his signature work - combining aerospace enamel with exotic pigments and finely ground minerals. His inspiration for these meta-realistic paintings comes from the beauty of gemstones, his colorful surroundings, and life itself. Élan's masterpieces, with 30-75 layers of extraordinary color, explode with depth and movement! Like fine studio art-glass and gemstones, light travels through each individual layer of color; this is what makes Élan's work so incredibly luminous! The only artist in the world to use this medium and technique, Élan has captured nature's beauty, creating a unique and compelling style. Currently the number one selling artist of original paintings in the Hawaiian Islands, Élan has sold over 6,500 works, with patrons from around the world. More than 70% of Élan's admirers have acquired five or more works of art for their homes or businesses. Élan's originals can be seen online at Elan Vital...

Beauty Within You
By Sara Conca
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Abstract art is open to interpretation and gives us the freedom to explore the artwork and assign our own meaning to each piece. This intensely personal process enriches our experience viewing non-representational work and is one of the most beautiful aspects of the complex style. Such is the journey when viewing the paintings by American contemporary abstract artist Sara Conca. Her vibrant works celebrate light, movement, and healing, using layered natural materials and textures to create immersive and constantly renewing landscapes. "I want each piece to look like it’s alive, not only with paint and movement, but also with natural materials that the living earth provides", says the artist. Conca creates her signature, mixed media paintings in a distinctive process all her own - she paints in reverse, building the image from foreground to background in careful layers. This technique requires an intuitive and meditative approach, which she often attains by painting in plein-air along the peaceful riverbank of her rural home. Says Conca, "I make giving pieces – they create a connection between the viewer and the flow of the universe. Nature is a beautiful source for healing, and I draw on the organic beauty of my surroundings. My painting technique pushes these ideas even further. Traditionally, artists paint from back to front – creating their background, then middle ground, then foreground, controlling each step along the way. I paint in reverse on the back of a clear sheet of acrylic, so the first marks I put down are the foreground of the painting and there’s no way to take back any mistakes. Therefore, I just accept them. I can have an image in my mind that I want to create. And being both ambidextrous and dyslexic, it’s easier for me to think in reverse visually. Ultimately, I rely heavily on prayer and intuition so that my idea will come through and the right energies will jump in. By working in reverse, the artwork becomes pure and primal and has its own signature imprint." Conca’s art incorporates unconventional materials such as raw silver...
