Signature Spitball Series of Julia Randall, Photorealist colored pencil drawing
By Julia Randall
Located in New York, NY
Julia Randall is in love with drawing, and uses her seductive technique to craft images that subtly challenge assumptions about corporeality, desire, and the natural world. Intersecting sensibilities activate her work; images are simultaneously erotic and humorous, beautiful and repulsive. Although she clearly operates in the realm of fantasy, Randall uses observation-based drawing and hyperrealistic technique to create images that are surreal and suggestive. Mysterious in tone, these "Under and Afloat" drawings hint at the fugitive nature of our passions, and the dreaded passage of time. Spatial convolutions and open-ended narratives allude to the confounding emotional layers that exist between people, and the enigmatic nature of desire, love and loss. In this vein, desire is ultimately ephemeral, but ironically drawn in fastidious detail. Framed: 64 x 49 inches Provenance: Artist to GarveySimon, New York, NY Exhibitions: 2015 "She's a Changeling," the Harts Gallery...

Joel Shapiro, Untitled, abstract geometric limited edition etching, 1992
By Joel Shapiro
Located in New York, NY
Joel Shapiro's post-minimalist work often references the human body, in a variety of poses, represented by geometric forms. In Untitled, 1992, a rust-red rectangle supports three black rectangles piled at varying angles. The forms have light, sketchy lines around them, reminiscent of Futurist dynamism markings or perhaps a draftsman's study of dimensions. A gelatinous blue form intersects the balanced rectangles, while further blue forms tumble out of a fanned series of black triangles. Shapiro has assembled mechanism, geometry, balance, fluid, solid and motion into this dynamic etching, which was published by Pace Prints...

Safety Envelope, contemporary realist silverpoint still life drawing, 2016
By Margot Glass
Located in New York, NY
Margot Glass explores the fragility of communication, and people’s natural drive to find narrative in even the most ordinary of objects. In her Envelopes series, Glass works in watercolor, pencil and silverpoint, using trompe l’oeil to highlight the paper as a still life element. The drawing becomes an object through close compositional cropping and the choice of stiff watercolor board. By omitting text, the artist adds a minimalist element to the vivid representation. Signature: Signed verso, Margot Glass, Safety Envelope, MG 2016 Provenance: Artist to Garvey Simon...
