Louis Feraud was one of those designers who had an incredible eye for detail and his skirt suits are just as modern today as they were when they were made decades ago! Once a ski instructor in the Alps , Louis Feraud became famous when he sold a white sundress to Brigitte Bardot out of his Cannes storefront in the 1950's. He went on to become a well respected designer of luxury fashion. We wish that photos could show how great this Louis Feraud 1980's 2 piece outfit is in person! This neutral toned skirt suit has an oversized jacket with a mandarin collar and knife pleats at the shoulders that extend to the hem. The jacket is fully lined in a monogrammed viscose. The faux wrap style skirt is also fully lined in beige rayon (but without the monogram). There are buttons for closure at the waist and side slit pockets that hidden along the seam. This is a documented, rare vintage 1940's Adele Simpson skirt and jacket is in a luxurious black wool. The flattering double breasted jacket has an exaggerated notched collar, shoulder pads for structure, and a cinched waist. The 8 front 7/8'' buttons are black wool capped with a glossy black ring surrounding the cap. The jacket has shoulder pads for structure and the sleeve cuffs fold over forming triangles that point towards the back of the jacket, creating a two extruding mirrored points on each sleeve. We have documented the jacket from Fall/Winter 1947. We aren't sure if the unlabeled skirt is original to the suit but are including it because it came from the same estate and was worn with the jacket by the original owner.. The straight skirt is in a black wool crepe and it is defined with 2 pleats in front and 2 pleats in back. There is a zipper in the side seam with overlapping fabric and a hook and eye closure at the waist line. The skirt has a 9'' knife kick pleat centered at the bottom of the back of the skirt. This is a vintage Valentino black wool crepe jacket and skirt suit with incredible style and attention to detail. We love Valentino Garavani pieces and once you've owned a Valentino piece, you will understand why! The low V jacket has a shawl collar and a short 4" zipper closure. We really love the unique bow half belt over the top of the jacket at the waist. This detail is one of the signature elements that make Valentino jackets so special. The jacket also has a box clasp closure, sewn in shoulder pads, and is unlined.
