Henry Gillard Glindoni
Henry Gillard Glindoni was a London genre and historical painter born at Kennington Lane, Lambeth, in 1852. He studied at the Working Men’s College and the Castle Street School of Art. He worked for several photographers, including Valentine Blanchard coloring prints and painting on porcelain. In his spare time, he painted local scenes and also took several photographs, which are held at the Valence House Museum Dagenham. At some point, he changed his surname, originally Glindon, to Glindoni for professional reasons. He exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, Suffolk Street and The Royal Watercolour Society. He became a member of the RBA and RWS. He died in 1913.
