Eguzkiñe Egaña Corta studied advertising and for more than 20 years has worked as a graphic designer. About 12 years ago, surrounded by a completely digital world, she felt the need to create with her hands and it is from there that she took up her drawings and illustrations and began to create with ceramics. She has completed a Master’s degree at the University of the Basque Country: “Ceramics; art and function” and combines her work as a designer and illustrator with contemporary artistic creation. She also teaches ceramics classes at the municipal school of Zarautz, a city in the Basque Country where she lives. She feels the need to explore the relationship between identity and self-knowledge. Work with the concepts; interior, exterior, return, connect, ancestral and artisanal, establishing a relationship between us and our environment, as well as between us and our ancestors, either emotionally, empathetically or through objects that somehow transport us to a hypothetical place in the past, both for its aesthetics and for the ways in which they have been created. Human beings are containers of desires, fears, expectations. Sometimes it is necessary to empty ourselves of everything that clutters the mind. 'Horizon in Violet' is a unique artwork by the British artist, Bethany Wood.
An equal passion for painting physically inspires how she controls and manipulates her glass. Recreating the fleeting nature of brush strokes, Wood’s molten colours traverse across the surface of her glass canvases blending in a myriad of hues. Unlike their flat painterly counterparts, these combine and merge, forming spontaneous watery and lava like abstract relief flourishes.
Taking inspiration from a wide range of sources, Wood’s influences are taken directly from the world around us, elements of the inner-city sit alongside expansive landscapes. Reoccurring themes are Graffiti & Urban Culture, exploration & travel.
In the artist's own words;
"As a multidisciplinary artist, I have begun to merge my two artistic passions, painting and Glassmaking. I like to express myself with the fluidity of the material. The Directional arrangement of a colour palette can form the depth of an abstract Landscape. I use my own paintings as a reference whilst making in the hot shop. Each individual artwork from my series has been inspired by a specific place.
Serendipity of abstraction has always been an inspiration for me; the coincidental elements which catch the eye of the viewer. The palette, composition and depth I have attained are taken from nature, with a bold but elegant swipe of my own personal, Expressionist style"

Rebeca Cors (México, 1988).
Her work oscillates between sculpture and utility object, studying the limits and meeting points between these two concepts. The intention of her work is to question paradigms in order to reinterpret objects from It’s established forms.? As a result, her practice approaches sculpture as: Abstract Sculpture - and - Utility Sculpture. The materialized compositions embody simplicity and balance, inspired by anthropometric proportions and nature’s forms. Simplicity is not a lack of content – but the synthesis of the complex. A balanced and simple composition conveys peace. The art work’s origin comes from a place of inner peace, the materials and hands that materialize the piece add the same intention – as a result, the works emanate and propagates this serenity.
Human beings surround themselves with objects through their existence, some for simple necessity or function, and -these others- that virtuate the space they inhabit, transmitting emotions that words simple fall short to describe; emotions that lead us to a state of contemplative meditation, in which the world around us seems to disappear for an instant, time vanishes and we enter this intimate human-object ritual, where a dialogue with the sculptural piece begins, words are not necessary.
