Han Dynasty Green Glazed Archers Watch Tower Oxford TL Tested

About the Item

Monumental Pottery Watch Tower in Green Glaze; Han Dynasty (2016 BC -AD 220) Earthenware three-storied pavilion from the Eastern Han Dynasty. Each of the three sections have two levels making it a six level tower. All levels have archers with crossbows on all corners. A monumental Han Dynasty Terracotta tomb piece meant to protect its owner in the afterlife from attacks and enemy forces. The green emerald glaze is beautiful and shows that it was important and valuable. The size of this architectural tomb minchi is enormous at 70 Inches (almost 6 feet tall), 28 inches deep and 23 inches wide. It is the tallest in the research I have done. In comes in 5 pieces including wooden stand. This Item would normally only be viewable in museums but could adorn your living room for countless interesting conversations in the future. Originally, it would have been in a dignitaries tomb along with grain silos, farm animals, horses, warriors, court ladies and dignitary figures. Don’t let this one slip away. The head is gracefully curved to the left, with a green and amber glazed saddle and blanket and foliate-shaped plaques detailed with moulded toads suspending from the trappings.
