About the Item
A rare and fine vintage Tatsuzo Shimaoka (1919-2007) stoneware studio pottery plate of square form with raised rim and central recess. The plate has the customary rope pattern with the recess decorated with stylized aubergine and white glazed patterning on a metallic brown glazed ground.
