Large vintage Mughal silk painting of a Maharaja Royal Procession, two royal couples on elephant, probably a wedding procession with servant walking around them.
Mughal scene, hand painted on silk, very fine detailed and nice soft colors.
The Maharaja's of Rajasthan in ancient days celebrated the Important festivals with royal processions along with his fellow men's and royal animals, elephants, horse, camels which were traditionally decorated from head to tail.

Add a festive touch with this superbly hand painted painting of a Rajput Royal Procession featuring the King and queen in a royal palanquin on elephant.
The artist makes his own pigments using locally available plants and minerals and mixing them with gum and water. Once the composition is laid out in a light yellow color, the artist applies the traditional colors – red, white, green, blue, orange and brown.
