English Victorian 1870s Tea Caddy with Faux Painted Tortoise Finish and Brass

About the Item

An English Victorian tea caddy from the late 19th century, with faux painted tortoise finish and patinated brass accents. Born during the third quarter of the 19th century during the reign of Queen Victoria, this English tea caddy features an exquisite faux painted tortoise finish, delicately highlighted by patinated brass accents. The concave stepped lid is topped with a petite sphere, echoed by the four petite ball feet on which the box is raised, while the sides are fitted with ring pulls sitting on ornate backplates. The caddy opens thanks to a petite key to reveal a lovely interior, adorned with the same faux finish and two lidded containers. With its lovely finish and elegant silhouette, this English tea caddy circa 1870 will be an excellent decorative accent in any home, perhaps placed in a living room on a side table or chest-of-drawers or in kitchen.
