US$8,667.7022% Off

A French Louis XVI style ormolu and lacquered tole covered vase shape mantel clock Blue lacquered tole covered with ormolu chiseled garlands decorated with flowers and knotted flowers, acanthus and asparagus. At damping, a seeded bud, it rests on a godronné pedestal with rai-de-cœur on a bleu turquin marble base. Engraved Signature Eugène Hazart, Paris, circa 1875 Polychrome enameled dial signed Lepaute à Paris. Spiral balance wheel and bell mechanism Original mercury gilding Eugène Hazart (1838-1891) was a member of the Reunion des fabricants de bronze from 1839 and a member of the commission on model ownership. Continuing his taste for the "neo" and for the eclecticism of the 19th century, he distinguished himself thanks to his reproductions of works of the Renaissance but especially of the 18th century. His creations were recognized as early as 1843, borrowing largely from the Louis XVI and Empire style. The excellence of his work will be legitimized throughout the second half of the 19th century, since it appears, in 1884, in the book of suppliers of Pannier Frères, running the famous Maison "A L'Escalier de crystal". Bibliography: Un âge d'or des Arts décoratifs, exhibition Grand-Palais Palais France, RMN, 1991, p.522.
