About the Item

This limited edition, twin-handled "Remembrance" vase commemorates the life and 26-year reign of King George V. Created after the King's death in 1936 by Thomas Goode & Co., it is a stunning celebration of one of England's favorite monarchs. One side of the vase displays the King's monogram surrounded by a swag border. Etched below is a banner inscribed "The Sailor King," alluding to his service in the Royal Navy. On the reverse, a series of significant events from George V's life are listed, including his marriage, coronation, Silver Jubilee and finally, his death and burial. Numbered 8/26 and signed "T. Goode & Co. Ltd. London" Measures: 6 3/8" wide x 2 1/2" deep x 5 7/8" high.
