René Lalique Setubal Fruiting Foliage Amber Glass Beaker
About the Item
A stunning French amber glass beaker in the Setubal design by world renowned jeweller, medallist and glass designer René Jules Lalique (French, 1860-1945) and dating from around 1931. This finely made example is molded in very thin amber colored glass and is molded around the lower body with a pattern of fruiting foliage with large, rounded berries which also form the foot. The beaker has a flared and feintly paneled upper body with a very fine rim. The lower body has a slight frosted finish and bears an early R LALIQUE stencil mark. A very fine and early example and wonderful display piece from this highly sought after maker.
