Vase Painted Two-handled Amphora Majolica Renaissance Vessel Italian Ceramic
About the Item
This large luxurious amphora, in majolica handmade in Italy and hand-painted in polychrome, is characterized by a dense presence of naturalistic ornamental motifs that decorate the various parts of the vase following the original Renaissance painting technique, unchanged over time, which we observe to the letter. The entire surface of the precious artifact shows curvilinear phytomorphic elements such as racemes, small lilies and peacock feathers: the latter link up according to a compositional criterion based both on the modular repetition of the elements and on the lively contrast of warm and cold colors. The presence of two small masks in the shape of lion heads made in bas-relief, together with two enveloped snakes that make up the handles, enhance the amphora and certify its craftsmanship.
Colors: Deruta blue, copper green, yellow, orange, vanadium, purple, carmine red.

The beauty of a deBlona majolica is determined by the ancient process, unchanged over time and handmade, which we observe to the letter in the creation of our artworks: painting ceramics is a very complex, fascinating and insidious art, but it is precisely the human and imperfect sign that makes every piece so characteristic and totally unique.
deBlona's essence is represented by the interpretation of the color and by an unrepeatable taste, with which we want to give new chromatic emotions.
Majolica accompanies the history of mankind, telling its existence for centuries: here, in our Atelier, we want to keep on narrating our time.

deBlona
Founded in 2020, deBlona emerged from a serendipitous encounter between entrepreneur Moreno Sagni and designer Riccardo Mei. Their shared passion for art and the timeless elegance of Italian craftsmanship inspired them to embark on this venture, blending their energies and expertise to revive a cherished tradition. In an era dominated by digital immediacy, deBlona chooses a different path—one that honors time and the mastery of an ancient craft. While fleeting trends may captivate for a moment, we believe in creating pieces that transcend the ephemeral. Our brand is a tribute to the art of slowing down, where every gesture reflects a lineage of skilled artisans, shaping works of beauty in quiet studios far from the rush of modern life. At deBlona, our atelier is where tradition meets innovation. It’s a sanctuary for our master artisans, whose expertise in materials and techniques is the foundation of every exquisite creation. Here, our majolica pieces come to life, infused with a deep reverence for history and a contemporary artistic vision. What defines deBlona is the singularity of our decorative approach and our bold interpretation of color. Majolica has long been a witness to humanity’s story, and through our work, we aim to continue that narrative—one of artistry, craftsmanship, and timeless beauty.
