Meissen most remarkable figurine group: Seven children as wine-growers Size / Dimenions: Height 9.44 inches Width 7.48 inches Depth 5.90 inches Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark (glazed bottom) FIRST QUALITY Dating: 18th century / made circa 1760-70 (Rococo = Pre-Marcolini Period !) Material: porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo Modelled by: Johann Joachim Kaendler (born in 1706 near Dresden / Germany - died 1775 in Meissen). - Model 2120 created circa 1754. - Kaendler was chief sculptor at Meissen manufactory as from 1742 until the year 1775. He is the most famous modeller Meissen manufactory ever had and created well-known series such as Shepherd Figurines, Comedian's Children, Gardener Children (with Acier), Paris Town Criers (with Reinicke and Meyer), Gallant Figurines, Asian Figurines etc. - Additionally, Kaendler made, too, excellent models of animal figurines as well as of stunningly decorated vases. Detailed Description: Subject: Seven figurines, seven boys, gathered around a wine cask. - There is a lidded wine cask attached to middle area existing - two boys are busy with crushing the wine grapes (both figurines cover lid of cask, one of them is only visible via its upper body). - The wine cask is surrounded by following figurines: °boy playing the lyra °boy being situated on a small wine cask, supporting himself on a pannier filled with wine grapes and holding a sickle in raised hand °boy with cask attached to his back, climbing up a ladder leant against the wine cask °boy lying prone holding a wine bottle and wine glass °boy running along the wine cask - he holds up a wine grape Finally, there are a tambourine as well as a trumpet visible, lying on ground. The figurine group is attached to irregularly shaped base decorated with Rocaille ornaments as well as with sculptured flowers and leaves. Condition: VERY GOOD There aren't any chips / splinters / cracks or any other damages existing. Some fingers of figurines were excellently restored, restorations aren't visible with naked eye.

    Elaborately crafted porcelain group from the 19th century: A couple of gardeners and two boys harvesting apples, dressed in rural Rococo robes with fine decorations, a boy standing at the top end of the ladder leaning against the tree and picking apples, below them the gardener couple, the female catching them in her apron held high while the beau reaches an apple to her mouth, a boy sitting behind the tree and taking an apple from the full hat standing next to him on a tree stump. On a round meadow base with three-dimensional foliage and gold-heightened rocaille decoration.
