'Nido' Mid-Century Modern style Desk in Brazilian Hardwood by Knót Artesanal
About the Item
Nido desk is comprised of an ample work area and a slim drawer all enclosed by delicate slats and suspended upon four slender legs. The offset drawer pull breaks the symmetry of the otherwise uniformity of the piece.
Its mid-century modern style with suggestions of Scandinavian minimalism are shared with its sister pieces 'Casulo' display case and 'Arca' shoe rack/bench which together make up Knót's Ripa Range of furniture.
Handmade from Brazilian hardwood Cumaru (as in photo) and also available in Peroba Mica.
Knót Artesanal is a minimalist furniture studio composed of Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez and Scottish woodworker James Rowland. Specialising in handmade pieces created using traditional techniques and a modern design from their base in Paraty on the tropical 'Green Coast' of Brazil.

Knot Artesanal
Knót (ki-no-ti) is the meeting of design, beauty and simplicity hand crafted in solid hard-woods. It was formed between Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez (nó) and British woodworker James Rowland (knot), both passionate about the forms, tones and textures of wood. Our focus is on simple lines, quality materials and natural finishes. All of our pieces are handmade using traditional woodworking methods to create timeless contemporary pieces that not only need to be seen but also felt. This takes place in Paraty Brazil, the city in which we chose to live and work, nestled between the rainforest and the ocean.
Available in Brazilian Hardwoods Cumaru or Peroba Mica.
