About the Item
C.1960 Neiman Marcus 'Made to Order' silk shantung hat in an ivory or candlelight white shade. The hat has a chic turban style design with effortless folds that create a stylish topper. It takes on a casual look when worn backwards as shown in photograph 11 and would be a great alternative for a wedding veil. From the estate of Betty Foy Sanders, artist, philanthropist and former first lady of Georgia. In addition to her artistic talents, Ms. Sanders was also known for her unique and fashion forward sense of style including her love of hats.
CONDITION
Good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear including makeup soiling to the inner grosgrain rim as shown in photograph 10.
MEASUREMENTS
Measures 21.5" circumference at the inner rim. The crown has a 3.5" rise with 8" to the center crown.
