Whimsical 1950's Bonta Creatrice Straw Petal Hat With Kelly Green Bow

Early 20th Century Central Asian hat, possibly Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan, with an intricate geometric pattern of ruby red sequins and beads accented by crystals on silk. The interior is lined with a quilted floral printed cotton. From the estate and private collection of Peggy Slappey, a well traveled lady who passionately collected textile art from Central Asia. This hat was part of a 2016 exhibit at the Birmingham Museum of Art which displayed textiles from Ms. Slappey's extensive collection. The hat is pictured on page 73 of the catalog which is included.
