Oh the beautiful drama of a voluminous cape! Especially when the cape is designed by Valentino Garavani in an aubergine red angora wool blend that drapes with all the comfort of a cozy wrap. The cape ties at the neckline and buttons on the underside of the cowl neck which can be worn flat like a capelet or buttoned up for extra warmth. Even better, drape the cowl neck over the head for a true turn-of-the-century look. The cape is accompanied by a coordinating pull on skirt with wide elasticized waistband and side pockets. The cape is in excellent condition with some light pilling. Though the skirt makes a great first impression ... closer inspection reveals three small holes 5" below the waistband and two more holes at the back approximately 10" up from the hem. All the holes are hidden by the folds in the volume of the skirt. The cape can be worn separately and paired successfully with other ensembles but we wanted to include the skirt in spite of the damage.
