2010 Alexander McQueen Documented Insect Embroidered Net-Lace Yellow Mini Dress

About the Item

An absolutely stunning and ultra rare Alexander McQueen well-documented embroidered net lace yellow silk mini dress dating back to his lifetime 2010 resort collection. As shown, this gorgeous dress was also Naomi Campbell's choice look while attending Nick Knight's ShowStudio Opening Party as part of London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010. There are so many photos of her with Lee while wearing the twin of this dress that night. Alexander McQueen was known for combining superb tailoring with a dramatic aesthetic focus and this highly stylized mini dress is a perfect example of why the magic of Alexander McQueen is so missed. Style Magazine noted that the dress has "a bit of romance in the form of lace overlays as delicate as insect wings" and that the collection was inspired by the notion of an artist in his studio. Vogue stated that the collection "centered around patterns like line drawings", one may say tattoos. The intricate embroidered overlay on this dress would have been done specifically for each individual garment and you can see how the pattern perfectly meets at all seams. Each dress is a one-of-a-kind creation with no two being the exact same. He designed the garment to hug the body, creating shape while letting the textile shine. The hand embroidered black overlay is done on a delicate sheer netting. This lies over a sensational yellow silk underneath and the end result in magnificent. The netted embroidery covers the dress from shoulder to hem so that you get the impact of the design from every angle. It gives the dress the appearance of being tattooed in an epic insect style that only McQueen could envision. We added many pictures so you can appreciate this archival museum quality treasure. Measurements (marked a size 40) Bust: 32-34 inches Waist: 26-27 inches Hips: up to 36 inches Total Length: 33 inches This 2010 Alexander McQueen dress is in beautiful condition with no rips, holes or stains. Fully lined in a yellow silk and closes at the back with a hidden center zipper. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.

An exceptional, museum quality Gianni Versace black leather, silk & lace heavily sculpted bondage gown dating back to his iconic 1992 fall-winter runway collection. This iconic collection, provocatively titled 'Miss S&M' definitely goes down in history as one of Gianni Versace's most recognizable looks. Versace’s fantasies came to life, fetishistic elements were worked into glamorous eveningwear, and with no small effort: Vogue said, “Getting strapped required eight hands. These high-maintenance looks were meant to be seen, not in a dungeon somewhere, but on the red carpet." As shown, this particular show-stopper of a gown, Look #62, has been worn by the likes of Christy Turlington, Tyra Banks...

  • Iconic 1996 Madonna 'Evita' Film-Worn Beaded Ivory Silk Couture Archival Gown
    Located in Beverly Hills, CA
Own a major slice of celebrity and film history. Madonna wore this extraordinary ivory beaded couture gown for her portrayal of Eva Perón in the unforgettable 1996 film "Evita". Madonna campaigned to play the role of Evita and used her popstar status to acquire it. Many other actresses were considered to play the role such as Elaine Paige, Liza Minnelli, Cher and Meryl Streep. The film was a huge success for Madonna, who up until this time had not fared well in her acting exploits. Madonna even won a Best Actress Golden Globe Award for her performance as the First Lady of Argentina. Madonna wears this gorgeous gown in the scenes at the Inaugural Ball as she dances and movingly sings the song, "High Flying, Adored." The fabric itself is a masterpiece; high quality silk satin that has been heavily adorned with hand set red jewels, pearls, rhinestones and glass beads. I love the chic cut-out neckline which rests on the collarbone and scoops low in the back. The gown flows into an hourglass nipped waist where it breaks into a unique zig-zag design. The piece work to create the skirting in particular is extraordinary. The yard and yards of luxurious silk satin personify the feminine ideal in clothing. We photographed the garment with and without a petticoat so you can see the true fullness. Not only was this gown an iconic look for the character but Madonna was also featured in the October 1996 issue of Vogue magazine wearing this gown. The gown was originally made for the actress Carol Lawrence and then worn by actress Daryl Hannah while accompanying John F. Kennedy, Jr. to meet the Queen of England. We were thrilled to find a picture of this meeting as well. With Madonna worn garments fetching extremely high prices at auction (her 'Desperately Seeking Susan...
