About

Red carpet, couture worthy showstopper. Bias cut, corseted bodice, draped shoulders, long sleeves zippered at wrist, fully lined in silk, hand beaded glass bugle beads and sequins throughout.

Robert Gordon Mackie was born on March 24, 1940 in California. He is best known for his costuming for entertainment icons such as Marlene Dietrich, Liza Minelli, Madonna, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, and created the look of Cher's outrageous, unforgettable Mohawk costume for the Academy Awards, among many others. As the costume designer for the Carol Burnett Show during its 11 year run, he won 7 Emmys and thrice nominated for an Academy Award. Mackie has said a woman who wears my clothes is not afraid to be noticed. Mackie's beaded, sequin encrusted , avant guard evening wear are always a show stopper.
