Inspired by the allure of the islands and a Caribbean charm, the Spring 2005 Prada collection showcased rich colors mixed with natural tones and textures. This top mixed with an arts-and-crafts aesthetic allowed for the collection to give off a more active vibe. Done in a slightly lustrous silk, this one-shoulder top is an eclectic design. The front is done in a rich red rust color and is decorated with appliques of umber, orange, sap green, pale yellow, cyan, and navy. These appliques made from both silk fabric and ribbon have been masterfully arranged and hand stitched to create a collaged image of a sailboat. A slight texture is added through the dimension and the raw edges of some of the appliques. In contrast to the red front, the back of this top is in an ocean blue color with a water marked design that makes it appear more liquid.
