Libras are considered to be the connoisseurs of the Zodiac. How fitting that Mr. Dino, aka Max Cohen, created a stylish 1960's box shaped handbag in collaboration with Lou Taylor Inc. for the Libras and their perfectly balanced scales. The body of the handbag is a mod acetate fabric (looks like crepe) in graphic shades of natural white, black and brown which is reminiscent of an abstract animal print. The Libra Zodiac symbol appears on both sides as well as the 'Mr.Dino' signature. The double top handle and frame are a gold tone metal accented by black patent trim. The flip lock closure opens to reveal a faille lined interior with an attached change purse. Mr. Dino designed all the prints for his clothing lines and was known as the American version of Pucci. He rarely designed handbags making this line for Lou Taylor Inc. a unique and fun find. Retailed at J.P. Allen, a fashionable old Atlanta department store. Original J.P. Allen gift box and Lou Taylor hang tag included. CONDITION Very good condition. Though previously owned, the handbag was never used and has the original hang tag attached. There is some subtle age related patina to the gold tone frame primarily at the handles and base though nothing objectionable and will probably go unnoticed. The J.P. Allen box shows age and wear from many years of storage. MEASUREMENTS The body of the handbag measures 7.5" wide x 5" tall x 4" deep. Each handle measures 7.5" from end to end providing for a 2.5" drop. Petite size with plenty of room for modern day accessories.
