Antique Japanese Kimono 'Uchikake' for Wedding, 1970s

About the Item

This is a kimono called Uchikake which Japanese women wear for wedding ceremony. It is said that the women wear the white uchikake for the reason of 'they can dyed in any color' and the red uchikake 'represent blood of the brides family'. This uchikake is made in Japan around Showa era. Showa era is between 1926 and 1989. This is made with silk ans made by hand. The design is with the chrysanthemums and the cranes. Both are symbols of Japan. Dimensions: longueur 1 m 79 cm. largeur 1 m 18 cm. longueur manches 32 cm. hauteur manches 54 cm.
