Antique Japanese Zelkova Wood Mortar Vessel

About the Item

This antique Japanese mortar is hand-carved from the Meiji Period (1868-1912). It is made of the most stunning Zelkova wood with incredible texture. The staples were newly applied in Japan. There is a gap in the bottom (please last image). Stunning one of a kind piece.
