Japanese Antique Wooden Board Art Single Board 1910s-1930s Wabi-Sabi
About the Item
This is an old Japanese work board.
This was used to roll mochi into balls.
That is why traces of wheat remain.
In the past, when food conditions were harsh, rice cakes and other foods eaten on special occasions must have been much more of a treat than they are today.
The boards used at that time have a rich expression that shows the changes over time, and are now loved as ornamentals.
There is some warping on the board.
I think it would be great to hang it on the wall or use it as a display stand.
