18th Century Chinese Export Porcelain Dish Blue & White hand painted immortals

About the Item

This is a hand-painted Chinese Export porcelain Dish, which we date to the second half of the 18th century, Qing, Qianlong period, circa 1770, or possibly earlier. The dish is circular and well potted, with ribbed sides and a light blue glaze and neatly cut foot rim. The dish has been hand-painted in varying shades of cobalt blue with a central scene of Chinese Immortal figures with a boy, all stood in an outside verandah setting with a fence behind the figures. This piece may well have been made for the Japanese export market. The base carries a hand painted seal mark in a double square, together with two floral sprigs to the outer rim of the dish.
