This Qing Dynasty Daoguang period famille rose porcelain bowl is a masterful example of Chinese ceramic artistry, reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities and technical prowess of its time. The exterior of the bowl is finely painted in the famille rose palette, featuring a lush floral scene with pomegranates, branches, leaves, and numerous chrysanthemum flowers set in a rocky garden. Each flower is meticulously rendered, capturing the essence of its natural beauty and symbolic significance—pomegranate representing fertility and chrysanthemum symbolizing longevity.
Contrasting the vibrant exterior, the interior of the bowl is elegantly decorated in blue and white. At its center is a medallion encircled by double circle marks, a traditional design element that adds depth to the bowl's overall composition. Adding to the interior's charm are four uniquely decorated lanterns, each adorned with flowing ribbons, further enhancing the bowl's visual appeal.
