It was produced exclusively for the Nabeshima clan, a powerful feudal lord family in Saga, Japan. Nabeshima ware is known for its exceptional quality, intricate designs, and vivid artistic imagination. The production of Nabeshima ware was a closely guarded secret, and only a select few artisans were allowed to create these exquisite ceramics. The Ichikawa Kouzan family, mentioned in the item description, is one such family that has been involved in the production of Nabeshima ware for 18 generations since the late 16th century, under the patronage of the Nabeshima Daimyo. Nabeshima ware is characterized by its refined shapes, delicate patterns, and sophisticated color schemes. The designs often depict natural motifs such as flowers, birds, and landscapes, and are meticulously hand-painted with precision and attention to detail. The secret formulas and techniques used in creating Nabeshima ware have been passed down through generations, resulting in highly sought-after and prized pieces of art. Black lacquer display stand is not included.
