About the Item
Extraordinary Japanese contemporary museum-quality decorative porcelain charger, stunningly hand painted in royal purple and yellow on a beautiful rectangular shape body, with a unique interpretation of giraffes, the artist's signture pattrn. This highly respected award-winning artist from the historic Kutani region of Japan has drawn on various animals.
Having started his career in the venerable tradition of old Kutani porcelain, the artist faithfully draws on at least one of the prime Kutani colors of yellow, green, red, blue and purple in each of his work. The artist's profile is available upon request.
Breathtakingly depicted in this piece are the African giraffes in vivid yellow and royal purple. In the artist’s mesmerizing rendition, the giraffes looks heavenward and earthward with humanlike eyes that convey an eerie sense of self-awareness. The reverse side of this charger is decorated around with a pattern in Kutani traditional green and purple, surrounding the artist's signature in the center.
This exquisite hand painted porcelain charger comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist.
