Japanese Hand-Painted Imari Large Porcelain Vase by Master Artist, circa 2005

Unique Japanese Imari contemporary decorative porcelain vase, hand-painted on a stunningly shaped body, a masterpiece by master porcelain artist of the Imari-Arita region of southern island of Kyushu in Japan (1931-2009). He was admired for his depiction of scenes of nature and intricate geometric patterns and this piece is a wonderful example of his mastery in both. This artist's legacy lives on through his two sons, acclaimed porcelain artists in their own right, each of whom specializes in one aspect of their father’s style. The artist's profile is available upon request. This mesmerizing piece showcases graceful egrets in flight and strolling around beautiful cascading leaves, while the base and upper part of this exquisite vase are decorated with the artist's signature, extremely intricate progression hexagonal pattern. Each hexagon is centered on a five-petalled cherry blossom encapsulated in a soft hue of green. The entire geometric progression sits upon a striking dark blue background. This piece comes in the original wooden box signed by the artist. Dimensions: Diameter 11.5 in Height 17.75 in
