Large 18thC Chinese Export Porcelain Bowl Imari 10.6 inch dia., Qing Circa 1770
About the Item
This is a Large 10.6 inch diameter Chinese Export porcelain footed Bowl with hand painted Imari decoration, which we date to the second half of the 18th Century, Qing period, circa 1770.
This bowl is well potted on a fairly high foot. The glaze is white with a slight blue tinge.
It is well hand decorated to the outside with an interesting continuous "Imari" pattern of twisted panels, using various shades of underglaze blue having all gilded floral decoration, alternating with panels of further floral decoration in various shades of over-glaze burnt orange/red color, mauve and gold. There is an upper over-glaze hand painted border in burnt orange and gold
The painting has been carried out in a free flowing style.
The base is unmarked.
