Large Chinese Blue And White Dish, China Ming Dynasty

About the Item

Large scalloped dish called "Swatow" in porcelain with flared rim, with underglaze blue decoration : the basin decorated with deers in a landscape, the descent decorated with prunus branches and flowers, the wing decorated with eight medallions on a background of scales. Frittings around the edge, usual for dishes from this period, otherwise very good condition (no hairlines or cracks). China, Zhangzhou kilns, circa 1600.
