Large Chinese Porcelain Charger Plate with Hand-Painted Blue and White Décor

About the Item

A large Chinese porcelain charger plate from the early 20th century, with hand-painted blue and white décor. Created in China during the early years of the 20th century, this large charger will make for a lovely decorative accentuation. The charger features a delicately scalloped border, accented with a frieze of scrolling foliage and auspicious clouds. On the inside, large leaves alternate with incised flowers while the center presents an elegant peacock standing on one leg in front of a scrolling tree. The bird is turning his head backwards to look at the luscious leaves that are hanging from a branch. Light blue color alternates with darker touches, thus creating a lively sense of depth. With its large proportions and lovely blue and white décor, this Chinese porcelain charger plate from the early 20th century will be a great decorative item in any dining room or kitchen area.
