Large Japanese Kutani Jardiniere on Hardwood Stand

About the Item

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large Meiji Period (1868-1912), Kutani Jardiniere vibrantly decorated in famile verte coloured enamels, this large, useful and highly decorative plant pot is predominately decorated with a writhing dragon and exotic bird in flight amidst stylized clouds upon a vibrant yellow ground, the base decorated with a continuous overlapping band representative of crashing waves, the base of the interior further decorated with a writhing dragon above waves, the inner rim decorated as a band of exotic birds and flora amidst stylised swags . This decorative vessel came complete with a very fine and sturdy Japanese hardwood display stand, a perfect statement piece that is sure to brighten any room of your choice.
