Mid 19th Century Shipwreck-Reclaimed Ceramic Plates from Indonesia

About the Item

A set of four small ceramic plates / saucers, reclaimed from a mid-19th Century Indonesian shipwreck. Defying time and the elements, these plates were preserved at the bottom of the sea until the 1970s, when they were found and brought to the surface. Glazed rustic earthenware with chrysanthemum hand-painted decorations, in which natural craftsmanship "imperfections" can be seen. No two are exactly alike in size and craft, which makes the set a singular item.
