Old Round Blue & White Canton Chinese Export Porcelain Covered Tureen/Vegetable
About the Item
A fine antique Chinese export porcelain covered tureen or vegetable dish.
In the Canton pattern.
Decorated in underglaze blue.
Depicting a mountainous Chinese village to the top of the lid and the long sides of the body. The background has houses, mountains, and a pagoda. The midground is a river with boats and some more houses. The foreground depicts a bridge across the river, a rocky outcropping, trees, and another structure.
With twisted metal wire handles to each side.

Overall Condition:
It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no cracks or repairs.
Condition Details:
There is some chips to the foot rim, some firing flaws throughout, some popped glaze bubbles, and some light crazing and fritting around the circumference of the lid where it rests on the tureen. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
