Pair of Export Porcelain Armorial Soup Plates China, c. 1731 Centering the arms of Yonge, enclosed by the motto of the order of the Bath, flanked by a boar and griffon, surmounted by a boar's head and sitting atop the family motto, the arms surrounded by ornate borders in geometric motifs, as well as floral, pictorial, and heraldic decorations on the lip and inner wall, dia. 9 in. Provenance: From A Fine Upstate New York collection. Previously sold by Christies sale BE553. Literature: Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, p. 209.
