Pair of Famille Verte et Jaune Foo Dogs, Qing Dynasty
About the Item
A pair of porcelain foo lions or foo dogs decorated in a pleasing combination of green and yellow enamels. The lions are portrayed seated firmly on their haunches upon a pierced rectangular plinth. Their mouths are open in an almost comic smile, eyes bulging out. The male holds a ball underfoot, while the female has a cub scurrying up her leg.
