This is a very decorative large Chinese Export vase or jar with a beautiful flambe plum coloured glaze and a six character mark to the base, which we date to the late 19th century Qing period. The vase or Jar is well potted having a baluster shape having a narrow neck with an everted rim. This is a heavy piece weighing about 3Kg unpacked The jar has a beautiful thick plum coloured flambe glaze of a peacock blue with cowpea red streaks, shading to red at the neck. The vase or jar has a bi-ring base with a central white glazed section having a blue hand painted six character, Qing - Kangxi period ( 1662-1722) apocryphal mark, though we date this piece to the late 19th century, Qing period.
