Rare Pair of Blue & White Nanking 'Rice Grain' Cups & Saucers, Qianlong Marked China, 19th Century or Older, Possibly a Special Order A truly rare and exquisite pair of Blue & White Nanking pattern 'Rice Grain' Cups & Saucers, dating back to the 19th century or possibly even earlier. These exceptional pieces of Chinese porcelain might even be a special order due to their unique features. The cups and saucers are a testament to the craftsmanship of the era. They are executed in a stunning blue and white 'Nanking' pattern with a rare element - the delicate translucent 'rice grain' shapes artfully inlaid into the porcelain surface. another unique attribute, the cups are executed with 'Rat Tail' handles, one on the left-hand side and the other on the right, a true pair. Each piece bears the prestigious Qianlong seal marks, a testament to their authenticity and historical significance. These marks signify their connection to the Qing Dynasty, adding to their value. The saucers come in two slightly different sizes, with one measuring 6.10 inches in diameter and the other at 5.9 inches. The cups themselves have a diameter of 4.75 inches, measuring 6 inches wide including the handle, and standing at a height of 2.9 inches. Sold as a pair only.
